My interest in the World Wide Web first came out in 2001. Back then, broadband and DSL was unheard of, YouTube did not exist, IRC chatting was very popular and Yahoo! still dominated the search engine industry. But my interest was just about WWW and the basics-mostly plain online academic research. No forums, website creation, etc.
Somewhere in 2004, I just suddenly thought of creating a homepage. Yes, a homepage and not a blog. I created an unofficial website for our college publication. Things were done via a drag and drop interface provided by the then popular but now gone Geocities. It was drag and drop but still manual. I also tried Bravenet’s the no-php hosting service provided by 50webs.com. Blogger and Wordpress.com only came into the picture (or into my picture) in 2005. But those blogs were unmaintained and the login credentials have been long forgotten.
Fast forward. We first had our very own PC and internet connection in 2009. I decided to start blogging again while working as a call center agent. I purchased blogosphere.com.ph (which subscription I didn’t renew) for myself and skeggin.info for my mom. I earned a decent amount from those blogs through adsense and CPAlead but my profession called me. I reviewed for and passed the Philippine CPA board exam. I gave justice to my profession for a while.
I am currently working as a Marketing Analyst for a self-publishing company. From time to time, I write excel tutorials and submit some articles to sites like GoArticles, EzineArticles and ArticleBase. I also guest blog.
